Our Approach

We use the quantum techniques developed in atomic, molecular, optical and ion trap physics to make progress on some of the important open questions in fundamental physics and cosmology. These include understanding the nature of dark energy and dark matter, measuring gravitational waves, constructing new types of quantum states of matter, discovering why there is so little antimatter in the universe and determining the properties of antimatter. We mostly use small, tabletop experiments, and typically we cool our quantum systems down close to absolute zero so we can use the unique quantum properties of our systems to make better measurements.
