I-Explore Degree Requirement

An I-Explore module in Year 2 or 3 is an integral part of your degree. Your Department will decide on which year you will take your chosen module.

There is no option to opt-out of taking an I-Explore module. The College considers it critical to your learning experience that you have the chance to broaden your knowledge and tackle a brand new subject area, chosen from a huge range of for-credit modules built into your degree.

In 2023-24 the following students will take their I-Explore module in Year 2: 

  • Physics Department
  • Maths Department
  • Life Sciences Department
  • School of Medicine - Students on the MBBS and BMB Programmes
  • Dyson School of Design Engineering*

And the following students will take their I-Explore module in Year 3: 

  • Chemistry Department
  • All Engineering departments*

*Please note that from 2023-24 students from the Dyson School of Design Engineering will take their I-Explore module in Year 2. However, students who will be in Year 3 in 2023-24 will exceptionally take an I-Explore module, as they will not have had the chance to do so in Year 2.
