The Training and Development Sub-Group is a sub-group of the Teaching & Learning Product Board.  It is co-chaired by the Director of CHERS/EDU and a Faculty representative (currently Learning Development Lead from FoM).

The sub-group provides a forum for discussing training and developmental need, curating and integrating good practice from across college to support ‘local’ delivery/resource and integrate this with central College provision. We also seek to incorporate relevant QA information, awareness and process to better integrate pedagogic, technological and QA best practice into pedagogic design and provision.

This sub-group is primarily concerned with the pedagogy/technology training and development of all who teach and support student learning. We recognise the importance of the student voice in informing and facilitating this mission and in aligning the pedagogic development and training of those that teach and support learning with that provided to students. While supporting the study skills provision for students is outside the remit of this sub-group, we will work closely with those that do, to align provision, share resources and promote coherent, transparent good practice.

The sub-group seeks to foster active partnerships and collaboration amongst all Imperial groups/units who provide training and support for technology enhanced pedagogy, including CHERS/EDU, the Graduate School, PFDC, ICT, Faculty and Interdisciplinary EdTech teams and the Library. We aim to support student-staff partnerships in facilitating implementation of effective student-centred pedagogies, and through the Teaching and Learning Product Board develop and advise on strategy and policy relating to pedagogy and associated TEL.
