Textile recycling: BHF

Students and staff can donate their unwanted clothing and shoes at the BHF (British Heart Foundation) recycling banks located across some of our campuses. There are donation banks located at:
Wells Way, South Kensington,
Hammersmith Hospital by the West side of Burlington Danes
Woodward Buildings in the basement car park

Please ensure that all donation are good quality items as these donations will be sold in shops to raise funds for the charity.

Food waste disposal

All food waste produced at catering outlets across the South Kensington campus is collected and taken to a large storage tank called a Rothenburg Unit located on Ayrton Road. Here the food is macerated and stored until the tank is full. Once full the tank is emptied by tanker and taken to an anaerobic digestion plant where it is used to recovery energy.
