I am also proud to be a feminist mother determined to teaching my daughter about the importance of treating people equally and respectfully."

Dr Samira El Boudamoussi - 'As of today, I have lived in seven countries (Morocco, Egypt, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK) and I speak nine languages fluently: Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish, and Catalan, in addition to my mother tongue: Berber, Moroccan dialect, and Egyptian dialect.'

Dr Mai Bui - "I have worked in research on carbon capture and storage (CCS) for almost 13 years, starting my research journey as a chemical engineer at CSIRO in Melbourne, Australia. I have been working with UKRI colleagues on the Industrial Decarbonisation Challenge to engage with companies to improve EDI in the industrial sector."

Dr Alex Collins - "I have worked a great deal with decision makers in government departments and agencies and although this is sometimes challenging it is rewarding to see the methods I have developed be adopted and used by the UK Government, US EPA and the European Commission."

Dr Tilly Collins - "I was a ‘late starter’ in Science and took my undergraduate degree at 30 years old, going from that to a PhD in Ecological Entomology in quick succession. I then interleaved part-time academia and having three children for several years. My research interests are many and diverse and I publish in several fields..."

Courtnae Bailey - "I am a PhD candidate pursuing research on the interactions between climate change adaption, climate finance, and the sustainable development goals...I try to inspire others both in and out of academia through my YouTube videos, vlogs and some inspirational Instagram posts."

Dr Audrey de Nazelle - "I am particularly interested in impacts of air quality policies, and solutions that promote active transportation (walking, cycling, using public transport). I want to make the world a better place for my little children to grow up in!"

Elsy Milan - "I am proud to be a Lebanese woman at Imperial College London, focusing on the conceptualisation of a novel policy framework for de-risking investment in CCUS and Blue Hydrogen for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors."

Dr Zoe Harris - "Zoe is researching vertical farming, and what this technology means for the use of land for food, water and energy...Zoe is a professionally trained actor, and in her spare time runs her own theatre company, Nexus. Nexus aims to work at the interface between science and the arts to communicate complex scientific issues."

Dr Caroline Howe - "Research has shown that, when asked to draw a scientist, 95% of children will draw a man. I have actively campaigned against this vision, taking part in events such as Soapbox Science, a platform for raising the public profile of women in science. I want to ensure that when my children become parents, at least 50% of children draw a woman scientist!"

Dr Joana Portugal Pereira - "I am a senior scientist of the IPCC Working Group III on Mitigation. I research about low carbon policies and energy scenarios to help countries reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and other air pollutants. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is supporting policy makers and scientists to design policy recommendations about climate policy. I enjoy very much working at CEP and its interdisciplinary and cross-cultural environment."

Ute Thiermann - "I am fascinated about the power of mindfulness to impact our lives and relationships. By practicing yoga and meditation for several years, I have benefited so much! I started wondering about the potential it has to relieve people from physical and mental sufferings, and how we could promote mindfulness to spread more appreciation and compassion of other beings in the world."

Renee van Diemen - "I research climate change mitigation and provide scientific support in the production of assessments conducted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The most rewarding part of the job is working with climate scientists all over the world."

Dr Ans Vercammen - "With a Masters in Psychology, a PhD in Cognitive & Behavioural Neuroscience and a second MSc in Conservation Science, I usually struggle to put myself in a specific disciplinary box. Broadly speaking my work focuses on the human factors in conservation and natural resource management contexts."

Yurong Yu- "Hi world, I am Yurong Yu, a PhD student at Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London. My PhD focuses on exploring the social & conservation nexus, which helps achieve biodiversity conservation. I have a very internationalised background, that I have been to over fifty countries, and studied in three for a long time. My research interests run between conservation science and environmental policy. Currently, I set my research lens at conservation practice in Hainan, China, where the critically endangered Hainan Gibbons habituate. I have carried out a quite long fieldwork project in Hainan in 2021, working with local experts and community to develop a comprehensive biodiversity impact assessment system."
