The library and computer room are both located on the 1st floor of the Hamilton Building on the Silwood Park campus. The library specialises in ecology, evolution, biodiversity, conservation, plant and animal biology, and entomology, reflecting the requirements of Silwood’s researchers and postgraduate students.

In addition to a collection of textbooks to support taught courses, loan copies of Masters theses by past Silwood students are also available. The library also covers a range of related subjects in agriculture, life sciences and environmental sciences.

The journal collection (which is mainly in electronic format) has many highly cited titles in the field of life sciences. Many of the electronic journals, databases and e-books can also be accessed remotely.

Computers are available for students to use in the library, and as there is wireless connection available students' own laptops can be used in the library.

Next door to the library there is a large computer room containing College PCs for the use of all students, as well as areas where personal laptop computers may be plugged in. Printers can be located in the ground floor foyer of the Hamilton Building and in Seminar room 2 on the First floor.

The computer room is open 24 hours a day.

As well as academic books, the library has a collection of books for recreational reading, including a wellbeing section and new best-selling fiction titles. We also have a games collection.
