Talking Teaching

The Talking Teaching series showcase best practice approaches to teaching from across Imperial. Anyone with an interest in education can come along to hear from Imperial staff and students, and network with colleagues.

Teaching Fellow Lunches

Teaching Fellow Lunches occurr monthly and are open to any member of staff that supports learning and teaching. They consist of a 15 minute presentation by a member of staff about a project they're working on or a similar endeavour, with the intention to share current progress and gain feedback from colleagues.

Special Interest Groups

The primary purpose of a Special Interest Group is to build informal networks in areas that do not have critical mass within individual departments but are sufficiently relevant across Imperial that a community of practice within the university is viable.

Transforming Education

We hope to host ‘Transforming Education’ events on a flexible, approximately six-monthly basis, to sit alongside our annual Festival of Learning and Teaching, and monthly Talking Teaching and Teaching Fellow Lunch events. They will explore big strategic ideas in the sector and society, alongside providing practical guidance to challenging problems.

The President's Awards for Excellence in Education are annual awards to recognise staff members who have made outstanding contributions in teaching, research supervision and supporting the student experience.

Have Your Say

The Learning and Teaching Strategy has facilitated investment in our people and places, our digital and physical infrastructure, and the student experience.

To continue our momentum, we are embarking on the next phase of this project with a sense of confident determination. Through collaboration with academic departments, faculties, our student support teams and the student body, comprehensive community feedback gathered during the 2022/23 academic year identified five fresh aims that build upon our progress, while aligning students’ experience with the broader objectives of Imperial's 'Science for Humanity' strategy.
