Access into and around Ethos
Plans are underway to introduce a new streamlined, more efficient access system for Ethos. The new system will be in place from Monday 4 September and it should make getting into and around the centre faster and easier.
From 4 September, you will no longer need to ‘check in’ to reception on arrival. You’ll be able to just touch in with your College ID card at the new gates and head through to whichever facility you were planning to use, where you’ll also find a similar access point, which you’ll need to touch in to.
Your membership type will dictate which facilities around the centre you are able to access. As well as ensuring better access control, these access points will provide Ethos staff with more advanced usage data, helping us to understand more about how and when members use our facilities. A small number of membership options have changed in order to work with the new access system. Read more about our new memberships.
To make room for the new gates and to enable the system to work to its full potential, we’ll be removing the current reception desk. Instead, a concierge service will be in operation during peak times and a Duty Manager will always be available on site. You’ll still be able to reach us by phone and we will soon be launching our own ASK site for online enquiries.
We’re sorry to say there will be some disruption whilst the installation takes place this month. Most of the work will take place during opening hours and we’ll try to make this as least disruptive for members as we can.
However, we will need to close the centre on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August.
We do apologise for any inconvenience this causes and we’d like to thank you for bearing with us.
