Can I use the gym in Ethos?

If you have a valid membership which includes access to the gym you will be able to use the gym in Ethos as well as Charing Cross Hospital Gym, and Hammersmith Hospital Gym. If your membership does not include access to the Gym and you would like to receive this please contact Sport Imperial on ASK to upgrade your membership to a gym inclusive membership.

Can I use the gyms and swimming pool at other Imperial College London sites?

All students and staff with a valid membership are able to make use Move Imperials facilities located at other Imperial College London campuses. These include St Mary’s Pool Paddington, Charing Cross Hospital Gym, and Hammersmith Hospital Gym. To make use of these facilities please contact Move Imperial on ASK and request to have your ID card activated for a particular site.

How can I sign up to Active Imperial?

You will need to register for an Active Imperial Membership online.  This is a termly membership so you will need to renew each term.  Active Leagues can be added to your membership as an additional cost.

How do I join a sports club?

Find your club, society, project online here: https://www.imperialcollegeunion.org/activities/a-to-z click the links and get in touch with the clubs directly. 

I am a staff member can I join a Union sports club?

You must contact the Deputy President Clubs, Projects and Societies dpcs@imperial.ac.uk to request associate membership.

Classes / booking

Can I block book a facility for the duration of the year?

Club block bookings take place in the summer, if you have missed this deadline please contact the following: Sports facilities y.vines@imperial.ac.uk Union spaces activities@imperial.ac.uk

How do I attend a group fitness class?

Group Fitness Classes need to be booked and paid for online, please visit Move Imperial Bookings. Classes become available to book on 6 days in advance and have set capacities.

Staff and students with a base membership will be able to purchase a Bolt On Unlimited Classes monthly membership online or purchase a pay as you go class online. Club Imperial Gold and Club Imperial Gold Partner memberships are inclusive of classes. 

How do I book a class or hire a squash court, badminton court, etc?

All bookings can be made using the Move Imperial Online Booking System with availability opening 6 days in advance. Staff and Students can use their usual College Username and Password to log in.

How do I book a football pitch/court/studio or the swimming pool?

If you are a student wanting to book a facility on behalf of your club you must contact the Sports Partnership Administrator y.vines@imperial.ac.uk to book.  All other bookings should be made online, please visit Move Imperial Bookings

How do I get access to one of the Strength and conditioning rooms?

The strength and conditioning room in Ethos is reserved for our performance teams and athletes and only these students can use the room in their booked, coached sessions.  We will have 2 club sessions running throughout the week that will be first come first served. You can request the use of the performance room at The Reynolds by emailing: activelifestykes@imperial.ac.uk

How do I sign up to a class at Hammersmith?

What group fitness classes do you offer?

Move Imperial offers an extensive range of over 40 group fitness classes each week, including Body Pump, Les Mills Grit Series, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Spin, LBT and Bootcamp. Access / facilities

Do I have to ‘swipe in’ and ‘swipe out’ at each turnstile?

You will need to ‘swipe in’ and ‘swipe out’ at the turnstiles located at the entrance to Ethos; the gym floor and pool entry will be ‘swipe in’ only with the gates automatically opening to let you out of these areas.

What facilities are located within Ethos?

Ethos is spread over four floors and has an indoor 25m x 5 lane swimming pool, 2 x squash courts, indoor climbing wall, 5 x badminton court sports hall, gym floor and studio.

What facilities do you have?
When will the last entry into Ethos be?

The last entry will be allowed half an hour before closing; the turnstiles at the entrance to Ethos will not allow access after this time.

Where are the turnstiles located in Ethos?

The turnstiles will be located at the entrance to Ethos, the Gym Floor and Swimming Pool area. Access to these areas will be determined by the membership held; for details on the memberships available please visit Ethos Memberships

How can I find out which scholarship to apply for?

What is the process for applying for a scholarship?

You need to apply for a sports scholarship online http://www.imperial.ac.uk/sport/performance-sport/sport-scholarships/ , all criteria can also be found here.  Once the deadline has passed we will review all applications and you will be invited for interview.

Do I need a fitness orientation to attend classes?

Yes. All members need to complete an Orientation and Health Commitment Statement to access any area of Ethos. These can be completed, booked and paid for online.

How do I get to the Move grounds?

Where are Move Imperials Sports Grounds?

Move Imperial has two outdoor sports grounds – Heston Sports Grounds and Harlington Sports Grounds. Both sites are located near Heathrow Airport

Active boxes are available from your Halls receptions, you must leave a £5 deposit and ID.  You must return all equipment and report any damages.
