Overview
Many of our staff (Medicine, and expanding to other faculties, e.g., Bioengineering and the Business School) use clinical data.
One area where risk was identified is the use of Imperial emails to transmit/receive patient information.
Imperial staff receive identifiable patient information across Imperial’s email system; consequently, they need some training and support to handle data safely and confidentially.
This e-learning course explores the concepts of confidentiality and data protection. Although this is a complex field, the course aims to provide you with the framework and tools to confidently interpret research requirements.
The MRC Regulatory Support Centre developed this module in consultation with the National Research Ethics Service, the Ethics and Confidentiality Committee and others.
