Windows 10 will no longer be supported by Microsoft from 14 October 2025.

Any new devices purchased from HP will be shipped with Windows 11 by default.

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025, with paid-for support and security patching ending in October 2028.

All Imperial devices running Windows 10 that can run Windows 11 have now received push notifications prompting colleagues to upgrade.

Not received a notification to upgrade?

If you have not received a notification, your device may not be eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 and you may require a replacement device.

To check if your device is eligible, follow these steps below:

  • Type About in the search box on your Windows taskbar
  • Select About your PC
  • You will see the processor details under device specifications

If your device is running an Intel processor which is 7th generation or below*, your device will not be able to run Windows 11 and you will need to request a replacement device.

*please check the number displayed before Gen, e.g. 10th Gen, 11th Gen. The numbers displayed after the i, e.g. i5 or i7 do not indicate if your device is eligible for Windows 11

If the processor is not Intel, or is Intel but without a generation, you can check your device's eligibility using either method below:

  1. Check online to see if your device is eligible.
  2. Download and install the Microsoft PC Health Check app.
