Equatio
Equatio is a toolbar that helps you engage with mathematical formulas and equations. The toolbar lets you write, edit and insert formulas into your work. You can insert equations as images, LaTeX code, MathML, and more. The toolbar has lots of useful features such as handwriting and voice recognition, Desmos graph editor, interactive periodic table and Molecular Viewer.
Help and How to get started
Equatio can be used on campus computers through the Software Hub.
- Go to your Window’s Start Menu and open the Software Hub.
- Search for Equatio in the Software Hub, press launch.
- Install and launch the app by pressing the ▶️ icon on the CloudPaging Window.
- If Equatio asks you to sign in, choose log in with Microsoft and sign in with your Imperial email address and password.
You can also use the Azure Virtual Desktop to access your campus computer and Equatio remotely from your personal computer.
- Once signed into the Virtual Desktop, go to your Window’s Start Menu and open the Software Hub if it isn’t already open.
- Search for Equatio in the Software Hub, press launch.
- Install and launch the app by pressing the ▶️ icon on the CloudPaging Window.
- If Equatio asks you to sign in, choose login with Microsoft and sign in with your Imperial email address and password.
If you are a member of Imperial staff you can access Equation via your machines Software Centre.
Using Equatio on your personal computer with Google Chrome
1. Open Google Chrome and search for Equatio Google Chrome Extension.
2. Open the first search result and click Add to Chrome:
3. Find and click on your extensions icon in Google Chrome (next to your downloads icon, top right):
4. Find the Equatio logo and click on the pin icon:
5. The Equatio icon should then appear next to your other extensions. Click on the Equatio icon.
6. Once you’ve clicked on the icon, it will open this page in a new tab. Choose Sign in with Microsoft and log in with your Imperial email address and password:
7. Once signed in, the Equatio toolbar will open and is ready to use:
