Message from Simon Lister to Chemistry class of 1979

Dear classmates,

The third reunion of the Chemistry class of 1979 is planned to take place on Saturday 15 June, coinciding with The Great Exhibition Road Festival.

The general format of the reunion will follow that of the previous events held in 2013 and 2019. Both were very successful, with nearly half of our classmates who enrolled in 1976 attending in 2019.

We are aiming to secure a space on campus for the day, where the group can initially assemble for welcome teas and coffees. A single group activity involving the Department of Chemistry is planned to take place at some point during the day (likely early afternoon), and efforts will be made to get a group photo.

In the late afternoon/early evening the group has traditionally re-assembled for drinks at Beit Bar. Those who wish to stay later might then move on for a meal. Throughout the day food and drinks will be available for purchase from stalls located on Imperial College Road and on the Queen’s Lawn, as part of the Great Exhibition Road Festival offering.

For those with accommodation booked on the night of Friday 14 June, there will be the additional opportunity to meet for drinks and food at a venue close to campus.

Full details for the event have yet to be finalised and will be announced to registrants as soon as they are available.

Please express your interest in this event via reunions@imperial.ac.uk, who will connect you with me.
