Enhance your understanding of AI fundamentals, cultivate hands-on skills in AI technologies, delve into diverse AI applications and AI-driven business innovation.
Whether you have a background in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business or a deep interest in applying AI in industry, this course will help develop your knowledge and skills to revolutionise how we work, live, and innovate using AI, such as for industries in healthcare, finance, and robotics.
You will delve into the core of AI and machine learning, and explore the intricate world of deep learning. You will also work on a Group Project on AI Ventures and Ethics, where you will not only develop AI technologies but also craft business strategies. You will have the opportunity to showcase your AI idea to leading venture capitalists and innovation investors.
You will develop expertise and skills that are needed to drive AI innovation, create AI solutions, deploy AI applications in real-world, and pursue PhD research.

You will study the core Group Project module as well as the Individual Project / Internship.
Core modules
Engage in a project-oriented, team-driven module where you explore AI applications in finance, health, and more.
Learn from industry leaders, culminating in a business proposal and technical demonstration.
You will take seven optional modules in total: at least two from Group A , and either four or five from the Group B.
Optional modules – Group A
This module covers machine learning theory, algorithms, and applications, emphasising Python programming proficiency for practical problem-solving. It also includes debugging, Git/GitHub, and VSCode integration.
Master the fundamentals and advanced methodologies of deep learning, connecting theory to real-world issues. Gain skills to contribute to ongoing advances and research in the dynamic Deep Learning field.
Learn core innovation management concepts and apply them to real business cases in tech-oriented companies across sectors.
Optional modules – Group B
Under the module leader's guidance, this module encourages independent study in Quantum AI, exploring advanced topics such as variational quantum algorithms, quantum data learning, and advanced quantum error correction.
Study Internet of Things platform development, data acquisition from sensors, analysis, actuations, and data mining insights.
Explore robotics theory and practice, emphasising innovative applications and hands-on experience with Robot Operating System (ROS) for solving real-world problems.
Explore the crucial aspect of AI trustworthiness in medical imaging. Delve into cutting-edge technological development and research, learning about deep learning techniques for enhanced reliability.
Learn to develop healthcare-focused machine learning models, addressing unique challenges in clinical data, risk stratification, precision medicine, and interpretability.
Explore rough path theory, reservoir computing, and deep learning models, developing skills in applying machine learning to streamed data with practical Python implementations and domain-specific integration.
Learn the thinking of designing creative and desirable AI solutions, from human-centric perspectives to methodologies.
Discover machine learning's role in climate change adaptation and mitigation, covering greenhouse gas reduction, climate modelling, and AI solutions' limitations and advantages.
The programme's pinnacle, where you create AI technologies for an application while exploring entrepreneurship, ethics, and social impact.
You are encouraged to bring original thinking to a research or application area of interest to you. You will have the opportunity to develop interdisciplinary projects with potential business cases.

You can submit one application form per year of entry. You can choose up to two courses.
Application deadlines – Round 1 closes on Thursday 16 January 2025
We operate a staged admissions process with several application rounds throughout the year.
Apply by 23.59 (UK time) on the closing date of an application round, to ensure you receive a response on your application by the relevant decision date.

There is no application fee for MRes courses, Postgraduate Certificates, Postgraduate Diplomas, or courses such as PhDs and EngDs.
If you are applying for a taught Master’s course, you will need to pay an application fee before submitting your application.
The fee applies per application and not per course.
- £80 for all taught Master's applications, excluding those to the Imperial College Business School.
- £100 for all MSc applications to the Imperial College Business School.
- £150 for all MBA applications to the Imperial College Business School.

You should expect and budget for your fees to increase each year.
Your fee is based on the year you enter the College, not your year of study. This means that if you repeat a year or resume your studies after an interruption, your fees will only increase by the amount linked to inflation.

Whether you pay the Home or Overseas fee depends on your fee status. This is assessed based on UK Government legislation and includes things like where you live and your nationality or residency status. Find out .
If you're a UK national, or EU national with settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme, you may be able to apply for a from the UK government, if you meet certain criteria.
The government has not yet published the loan amount for students starting courses in Autumn 2024. As a guide, the maximum value of the loan was £12,167 for courses starting on or after 1 August 2023.
The loan is not means-tested and you can choose whether to put it towards your tuition fees or living costs.
