Course overview

MSc Economics and Strategy for Business is a unique one year, full-time programme which integrates cutting edge strategic analysis with contemporary economics. Prepare yourself for a successful career in specialist economic and management consultancies or financial services.

On this interdisciplinary programme, you'll be taught by faculty immersed in leading edge research and business practice in global strategy, economics, digital applications, innovation and risk management.

You will also have the chance to apply the core disciplines in real world situations, via challenging lectures, data analysis, immersive business simulations, real world consultancy projects and work placement.

Our London location and ongoing relationships with major employers will give you the opportunity to meet and network with leading global organisations, allowing you to present yourself with confidence to the world’s top companies.

You also have the option to complete a four-six month work placement (internship) as part of your programme, extending the programme to 16 months and graduating with 120 ECTS. Please note that additional tuition fees apply.

Before the programme begins you will complete online pre-study modules delivered through The Hub, Imperial College Business School’s virtual learning environment. 

These modules will be available to students who have accepted an offer of admission from July onwards, and are designed to give you a basic knowledge of areas which will be covered by the programme throughout the academic year.

Entry requirements

We consider all applicants on an individual basis, welcoming students from all over the world.

First or 2:1 in a discipline such as Economics, Business or Finance, with at least introductory courses in micro- and macro-economics, and knowledge of quantitative topics – in particular calculus, statistics and linear algebra.

Footnotes

GMAT is not required for MSc Economics & Strategy for Business but will add weight to your application. For the GMAT Exam you will need a minimum overall percentile ranking of 55%. If you have taken the GMAT Exam (10th Edition), you will need a score of at least 600 (our current average is 666). Scores are valid for five years from your appointment date.

You are also required to have a well-researched career plan with clear short and long term goals.
