Eligibility criteria

Imperial College Business School is proud to be a global organisation with students from all over the world. Currently, students from Black or mixed black backgrounds are underrepresented in our student cohort and we're working to improve this. To encourage this further, we are offering scholarships to students from Black or mixed black backgrounds from all regions, who can demonstrate their leadership potential and want to make a positive contribution to the Imperial community.

The Black Future Leader Award is available to applicants demonstrating an outstanding track record of leadership and/or leadership potential. Self-identification of ethnicity from a Black or mixed background (including Black African or Black Caribbean and any other mixed black background) is also a requirement.

Application process

Candidates who submit their application by the required deadline and receive an offer for the programme will be eligible to apply for this scholarship. You will be required to submit a video assessment - further details will be communicated once you have received an offer for the programme. The requirements are as follows:

  • An excellent academic background
  • An excellent track record of professional achievement
  • A strong track record of leadership and/or leadership potential (this may include during your studies, work experience and internships, and/or within your community)
  • The overall strength of your application and interview performance, including references
