Eligibility criteria

Applications are invited for PhD studentship, to be be undertaken at Imperial College London (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) and be supported by SAAB Research UK (https://www.saab.com/markets/united-kingdom). Applicants should have a first-class degree BSc and Masters degree with Distinction (or other equivalent experience) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computing, Mathematics, or related field. They should be highly motivated individuals with keen interest in conducting international and interdisciplinary research. Students must also meet the eligibility requirements for Post Graduate Studies at Imperial College London. The full studentship award is for students with UK residency and includes Imperial College Home tuition fees and stipend of approximately £18,00 per annum (tax-free). The student will receive additional support towards further research expenses over the course of the research studentship, including support to attend international conferences.

Course specific information

This PhD scholarship is related to the area of Antenna Array Radar-Communications Integration. The focus will be on Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radar and wireless communications, where MIMO antenna array has emerged as a leading candidate for stimulating major new advancements in radar and communications theory systems.

Duties and responsibilities - studying the relevant literature, defining the research problems based on the project descriptions, conducting independent research, regularly reporting progress and results in both oral and written format, collaborating progress and results in both oral and written format, collaborating with other team-members, and writing reports/papers of the research outcomes when appropriate.
