Eligibility criteria

One Presidential Scholarship is available in each of the Faculties of Engineering, Imperial Business School, Medicine and Natural Sciences for offer holders of Black Heritage who:

  • Have home fee status
  • Qualify for the College's contextual admissions schemes. 
  • Be in one of the following ethnic heritages: Black - African; Black - Caribbean; Black - Other; Mixed - White and Black African; Mixed White and Black Caribbean.

Please note: This scholarship is not available to continuing students.

Course specific information

Covers up to 4 years (excluding repeat years). As such only the first 4 years of MBBS.

Application process

How to apply

To apply for a Presidential Scholarship for students of Black heritage, you need to:

  1. Apply for one of our 2025 entry undergraduate courses by:
    1. 18.00 (UK local time) on 15 October 2024 if you’re applying for our MBBS Medicine course; or
    2. by 18:00 (UK local time) on 29 January 2025 if you’re applying for any other courses. If you're unsure of how to apply, see our step-by-step guide.
  2. Receive an offer of a place for 2025 entry by the scholarship deadline of 23.59 (UK local time) on 1 April 2025.
  3. Complete our Presidential Scholarships application form by the scholarship deadline of 23.59 (UK local time) on 1 April 2025.

Additional information

Successful applicants shall also be offered Mentoring Support by the Activate programme

Outcome of Award: The successful candidates will be notified by email no later than 30 June 2025. If you have not heard from us by this date, please assume you have been unsuccessful in your application.

 

This award is for students starting in the academic year 2025-26 and cannot be deferred. All scholarships are awarded subject to students accepting the award Terms and Conditions.
