All staff and students at Imperial College should feel safe in our campuses. To achieve this, Imperial College has developed safety courses that need to be completed within the 1st month of starting.

To start, please make sure you:

• Watch a short induction video on Health and Safety (at end of page) for new postgraduates.
• Attend your Day One Induction in your department/research group/lab

Mandatory safety courses

All new PhD students must complete the following safety related courses within one month of starting:

• Month One Safety Training (MOST) - Online
• Fire Safety and Awareness Training course - Online
• Risk Assessment Foundation Training (RAFT) - The Risk Assessment Foundation Training Course (RAFT) is strongly recommended for anyone with line management, area, equipment or process management responsibilities as they will be required to undertake a risk assessment.
