What is Imperial Glass?

Imperial Glass is the new staff portal, built on the ASK (ServiceNow) Platform using the Employee Center module, offering a more streamlined experience for accessing information and systems.

We are currently piloting this portal with a select number of departments before we roll it out across Imperial. If you are a staff member who is not part of the pilot group, you will not have access to Imperial Glass, and you will be reverted back to the ASK portal (for knowledge, request catalogue, and to manage your personal tickets).

(NB: If you are a student, you will not have access to Imperial Glass. You will continue to use the ASK portal.

What are the benefits?

Glass enhances access to digital services and information for staff on a centralised portal. 

Imperial Glass will provide you with: 

  • Seamless access to key staff information and services in one place.
  • A more tailored experience, including suggested resources, and the ability to favourite frequently used apps and links.
  • Faster self-service and quick access to the information you need via: Search functionality that pulls results from the Imperial website, current 'Glass' content, knowledge articles and the service Request Catalogue.
  • AI-powered support via the ASK Chatbot, offering faster, more accurate responses, pulling from the Imperial website and knowledge articles  
  • Quick access to raise requests and issues, as well as tracking progress on existing tickets. 
  • You can navigate to ICIS from 'Glass', and in the future, this will be replaced by a navigation to Atlas.

How to use Imperial Glass

Bookmark Imperial Glass - Once you get access, we recommend that you bookmark 'Glass' or add it to your browser favourites. Find out how to add Imperial  Glass to your Edge browser.
You can also 'Add a shortcut' or 'Quick link' to your browser homepage or desktop.

Imperial Glass is an easy-to-navigate, intuitive system, where minimal training is required.

Take a tour - When you log in for the first time, you will see the Tour pop-up on the homepage. Click along to find out more about Imperial Glass.
