Royal College of Chemistry (1845 - 1881)
The Royal College of Chemistry was established in 1845. In 1853 it was incorporated into the Government School of Mines and Science Applied to the Arts, later the Royal School of Mines. The Royal College of Chemistry merged with some of the Royal School of Mines' courses in 1881, resulting in the formation of the Royal College of Science.
