Engineering in Medicine Laboratory (1963 - 1989)

The Engineering in Medicine Laboratory at Imperial College London was established in 1963 as a research group in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The group developed strong activities in the areas of ultrasonic imaging and magnetic resonance imaging. In 1989 a merger took place between the Engineering and Medicine Laboratory and the Physiological Flow Studies Unit, resulting in the formation of the Centre for Biological and Medical Systems.
