The Centre is keen to support applicants in their applications for external competitive fellowships – for example through the UK Medical Research Council, NIHR, The Wellcome Trust, The Royal Society and the Academy of Medical Sciences. These include fellowships for early career researchers transitioning to independence, for those returning after a period of leave or for international academics to establish their career in the UK.

The Centre also support applications for Imperial College Research Fellowships. This scheme is designed for outstanding early career researchers looking for an opportunity to focus on research and establish scientific independence, making the leap from a post-doctoral researcher to a permanent lecturer.

Potential applicants for any of these schemes should email mrc.gida@imperial.ac.uk in the first instance, outlining their research interests.
