If you are interested in postgraduate study at Imperial, the Grad PLUS Loan is an option for you to help pay your study costs.

The interest rate on Grad PLUS loans is fixed for the life of the loan.

For Direct PLUS Loans first disbursed on or after 1 July 2023, and before 1 July 2024, the interest rate is 8.05%.

Who can receive a Direct Grad PLUS loan?

To receive a Grad PLUS loan, you must:

• be a graduate or professional student enrolled at least half-time at an eligible school in a program leading to a graduate or professional degree or certificate;
• not have an adverse credit history unless you meet certain additional requirements); and
• meet the general eligibility requirements for federal student aid

Loan limits

The maximum PLUS loan amount you can borrow is the cost of attendance (determined by the school) minus any other financial assistance you receive.

Origination fee

There is a 4.228% loan origination fee on all Grad PLUS Loans.

This fee will be deducted from each disbursement.
