Prof. Owen Tutty is the Principal Investigator, University of Southampton team.
Prof. O. Tutty is Professor of Fluid Mechanics in the Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics Research Group at the University of Southampton. He has extensive research experience in fundamental fluid mechanics, including the development of computational fluid dynamics codes for specialist applications. He has been one of the major drivers in the Southampton flow control research, with 20 years experience in the development and application of active control for fluid flow. This includes work on distributed suction for boundary layer transition control, funded by a combination of EPSRC, Airbus and the EU, and control of disturbances in model flow. Recently he was been responsible for the flow control work packages in a recently completed Framework 6 EU project VortexCell2050: Fundamentals of Actively Controlled Flows with Trapped Vortices (Contract No: AST4-CT-2005-012139), where the University of Southampton was the lead partner.
