The lead paragraph content type allows you to add some lead text to your page up to a maximum of 1,000 characters. Adding a lead paragraph summary to the top of your page is recommended as it will help visitors to quickly understand the purpose of the page and decide if it is useful, without having to scan or read all of it.

Text within the lead paragraph is distinguishable from regular paragraph text as it displays at a slightly larger size. This is shown in the first paragraph above. This makes it a useful content type to use at the top of a standard page or landing page to introduce or summarise the main message. If you already have some general content on your page, this should precede it in terms of the sequence.

Note that the lead paragraph does not feature any styling elements (for example bold, italics, etc) - it only allows for adding unformatted text.

Page layout compatibility

The lead paragraph is suitable for both landing and standard (content) pages.

Important: the lead paragraph should be added to the top of your page and we recommend only having one per page.
