International events
Throughout September and October 2012 nineteen
worldwide alumni events were organised as
part of our Global Alumni Celebration. All these
events were planned by our international
, who brought together alumni
at events across the globe, including Canada,
Switzerland, Singapore, Greece, China, Romania,
Italy, Nigeria, France, India, Australia, Japan, Ireland
and Brazil. The events ranged from drinks and dinner, to hiking in the mountains.
Many thanks to all those alumni who organised and attended these events.

International events take place throughout the year; look out for details
in correspondence from the Business School and the Alumni Relations Office.
This year two international MBA tours took place, one in China and one in Brazil,
for current students on the programme. Incorporated into both these trips was a
social event to which alumni were invited, providing an excellent opportunity to
learn more about the current course programme, developments at the School and
offering a popular networking opportunity for both alumni and students.
As in previous years, the Business School and the alumni network in Greece
organised a conference in Athens in May 2012. ‘Oil and Mineral reserves: Is this a
way out of the Greek crisis?’ was hosted by a panel of knowledgeable speakers,
including: Andreas Andrianopoulo, former Minster of Culture, Trade, Industry,
Energy, Technology and Mass Communications; Dr Konstantinos Nikolaou, who
has 38 years of experience in Exploration and Production Business; and Loucas
Christoforo, who has extensive research and working background of the industry.
The event attracted over 120 attendees.
