This expedition team included four Imperial students, and aimed to climb big walls in the Yosemite National Park in California, a UNESCO world heritage site. This was to be achieved from the start of September until mid-October 2022 and was split into two halves, with a changeover of some of the team between the two. The objectives were to develop big wall climbing skills, develop aid and crack climbing skills, both of which are difficult to do in the UK, and disseminate these skills so that more adventurous expeditions can be tackled. Yosemite has an abundance of large granite faces and domes lining the valleys and canyons, cut from the Sierra Nevada Batholith by past glaciers, and provides the perfect environment to develop big wall techniques.

In addition to funding provided by the Exploration Board this expedition was supported by the Old Centralians' Trust.
