Expedition Report
The several aims of this expedition were to gain experience with glacial approaches, complete long objectives to practise efficient movement, complete multi-day objectives with bivouacs to build mental stamina, summit a peak above 4,000m to practise acclimatisation methods and understand tolerance to altitude, and practise choosing safe routes by interpreting short-term weather forecasts, avalanche forecasts, and consulting local expertise. By the end of the trip, all the team felt that they were more competent Alpine climbers and better prepared for future expeditions to larger and more remote mountain ranges.
In addition to funding provided by the Exploration Board this expedition was supported by the Old Centralians' Trust.
