he London 2012 Olympics placed much emphasis on the role that
backroom teams and volunteers played in its success. The Business School
is similar – our active alumni volunteer programme is helping to attract high
calibre students and deliver outstanding programmes, as well as grow its
international reputation and influence. Alumni both contribute to, and benefit
from, the Business School’s success.
The successful outcome of the Olympic 2012 construction programme was the
subject of a research project by the I
,
who were invited by the Olympic Delivery Authority to identify the key factors
underpinning its success. The research provided an opportunity to develop our
understanding of how innovation and continuous learning can be successfully
achieved in mega-projects.

One of the critical factors identified through this research was the importance
that individuals play in learning and knowledge implementation. The alumni
community is a truly global network of individuals, and offers an outstanding
resource to help you develop contacts, solve business problems and develop
business. In this edition, you can find out about the many opportunities to keep
in touch with old friends and expand your professional networks: Alumni Special

our social media groups and the new I
guest
speaker series are just some of the resources you can tap into.
