Who should attend

This session is for all staff.

Overview

This interactive workshop is designed to give participants confidence in taking control of their workload and moving away from a reactive approach to managing their time.

Unlike traditional methods of time management training, this workshop goes below the surface to look at how our working preferences impact our ability to manage our workload effectively. We also explore interpersonal tools and techniques to be more influential with others when negotiating our workloads.

The session finishes with a practical action planning exercise, giving participants tangible actions to take back into the workplace.

This workshop runs as an in-person, full-day event designed to allow participants to consider their workload in detail and fully understand the tools and techniques included.

Objectives

This course will give participants:

  • The chance to reflect on the effectiveness of your current time management methods and how you spend your time at work, including identifying timewasters or time stealers
  • An opportunity to learn about two preferences as identified by the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, which affect planning and prioritising work, and consider the implications of this preference for you at work
  • The opportunity to learn about and apply a model which helps you identify which elements of your work are urgent or important, as well as explore the need to set boundaries and how to do that, using assertive behaviour
  • A self-created action plan to help you manage your workload more effectively in the future
